This is an exciting event that will follow the Schertz Chamber Mixer that we are hosting from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM (open to exhibiting artist and Schertz Chamber Members). The After Party from 7 PM  to 9 PM  is open to the public!

If you want to have your work exhibited, please download and print the  Red Canvas Affair Contract 2012 and bring it with you along with the name card downloaded from the For Artist Page. Installation Date is Feb. 3 from 10 to 4 at the Schertz Civic Center and de-installation is on Feb. 24th from 10 to 4.

Ok Revolution, time to step up! At our first ever “Night of Worship” this past Sunday, a talented artist from our church named Karyn Walker painted this during a song on stage. I was blown away! At one of the most haunted places in downtown San Antonio (a way to attract tourists), the Schertz Area Artz Council participated and will be featured at the Emily Morgan Hotel. The reception date is on May 13th from 6 to 8. Come on out to view Texas themed artwork in the library and in the lobby to see what the rage is all about!

We are a newly created organization dedicated to supporting the visual fine arts in the Schertz Area.

As our mission statement reads “ The mission of the Schertz Area Artz Council as a non-profit membership organization is to nurture, inspire, advocate and support emerging and established member artists, and to serve as a catalyst for the creation, appreciation and enjoyment of the visual arts in the Schertz area through exhibitions and educational programs designed to facilitate these objectives.”

Schertz Magazine and the SAAC recently hosted our first show, Artz ’09, highlighting area artists’ work. Artists from every medium exhibited  works, and the evening came together perfectly. It was ethereal, and even magical.
